3 Day Kukes Path of Colors and Radomira Hiking Tour From Tirana is made of two main hiking trails. Path of Colors trail from Shishtavec-Novoseje to Caje Village (18km), and the second hiking trail is from Caje Village to Radomira Village (15 km) in the feet of the highest mountain in Albania, Korabi.
Path of colors is an Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty in Northern Albanian Alps. The path of colors starts from Shishtavec in Kukes to Caj Village and is 18 km long. The Natural Park of Korab-Kortnik is part of this path and goes close to the triple border point between Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia. The views are breathtaking with flower fields, and the largest alpine pastures in Europe. On the way you may see wild horses running in the beautiful nature. In the ancient times this path was called Scardus, which from Latin means multicolored, due to seasonal flowers that cover the meadows.
The hike from Caje Village to Radomira reaches to the hight of 2150 m. From there you can see the Korabi Valley. The journey goes on to the Radomira Shepherds Pens followed by a visit to the Black Lake of Radomira (1500 m). And finally reaching the village of Radomira at 1200 m height.
Our tour is operational from May 15th – October 20th.
Tips and hints
People should be equipped with equipment for walking in nature, such as: hats against the sun, sweaters against the wind, take enough water because there are few sources along the path.
Day 1
Departure from Tirana
The Path of Colors Hiking Tour starts at 06:00 am from Tirana. Hotel pick up and drop off included. We drive for 3 hours towards North East Albania to the town of Kukes. From Kukes our journey will continue to the Village of Shishtavec, which is the starting point of our hike. This is where we meet our local guide that will be with us for the rest of our journey into Albanian Alps.
Hiking Time
We start hiking around 09:30 and pass through some of the most beautiful scenes that Northern Albania can offer. On the way we stop for breaks for water, and packed lunch, and to take pictures. On the way will see herds of wild horses and nature at its best.

Day 2
We start the day with breakfast prepared by our hosts in Caje village. After getting our packed lunches we get ready for another challenging but rewarding day of hiking. All along the trail, Korabi mountain will be our companion. We will see also Mountains of Sharri that stretch from Kosovo to Macedonia, mountain of Gjallice, Koritnik, Korab and parts of Albanian Alps. After 6 hours of hiking and reaching the height of 2150 m we will start our downhill towards the Shepherds Pens and Black Lake of Radomira. Our final destination is the guesthouse in the village of Radomira in the feet of mount Korabi. Its time to relax, explore the area and in the evening enjoy the traditional food prepared by our hosts.
Day 3
We start the day with a delicious breakfast from our guesthouse. We will have some free time to visit the village of Radomira, and prepare for our journey back to Tirana. At 10:30 it is time to head back to Tirana filled with positive feelings and wonderful memories that can last a lifetime.
