3 Day Valbona to Theth Hiking Tour from Tirana

Description of Tour

Day 1

The tour starts from Tirana with transportation around 05:30am, and we take the road towards the Komani Lake, with a stop in Shkodra. At 9:00am we board ferry Berisha (or boat Dragobia) towards Fierze. The navigation from Komani Lake to Fierze on the boat is a unique experience with views of turquoise waters surrounded by Albanian Alps.   By 11:30am, we reach Fierza where the car will take us to Valbona, passing by Bajram Curri.

We arrive in Valbona National Park at 12:45pm, where we are accommodated in the Guesthouse followed by delicious lunch with traditional and fresh food and drinks, and get a feel of the characteristic hospitality of the area. In the afternoon we will visit the Old Mill, the Gem Lake, and the Valbona river, on our return an excellent traditional dinner and the last briefing awaits us in preparation for the hike. End of day one with comfortable sleep.

Day 2

In the morning, after a comfortable sleep, we eat breakfast prepared with fresh local produce in the presence of a wonderful panorama and fresh air. After final details for our Valbona to Theth journey, we take the minibus to the starting point of the hike. A delicious picnic earlier prepared for us by the guesthouse will be added to our backpack. It’s time to start a 17 km hike to Theth and conquer the peak of Jezerca!

Once at the peak,

we will have a break for photos, sip a glass of rakia, and eat our packed lunches. It’s time to walk downwards towards Theth National Park.  At the end of the journey the car will be waiting to take us to Blue Eye Lagoon, a miracle of nature and the proper reward after a long hike.
It’s time to stay in Theth Guesthouse and relax, followed by a delicious dinner  with local products accompanied by folk tales and the music.

Day 3

After a  good breakfast our tour continues to Grunas Waterfall, a small trek where we will discover another natural beauty of  Theth National Park. A small stop and then our minibus will take us back to Tirana from Theth. We will be in Tirana around 14:00.
